Universal Database of Central Russian Newspapers (UDB COM)
Description: Universal Database of Russian Newspapers offers access to full-text electronic versions of major Russian and many NIS periodicals on the same day they are published. The Universal database includes archives of back issues of newspapers and journals. (Some go back as far as 1996.) Most of the newspapers are available on microfilm. For details on UNC-CH holdings see List of Russian Newspapers in UDRN.
The Universal Database is an excellent source for information on business, economics, domestic and foreign policy and important political events in Russia and the former Soviet Union. The Database search mechanism enables global searching across all the above mentioned newspapers, individual titles or particular issues, as well as archival searches.
The UDRN Help file provides instructions on searching techniques and other useful information. If you have any questions, feel free to email East View or call at 800-477-1005. Technical specialists will be happy to walk you through the process of fine-tuning your computer system so that you could use all the benefits of the Russian-language search mechanism. This database works best with the Internet Explorer 4.01 and Netscape 4.00 and up.
